Sea Change

noun
1. A striking change, as in appearance, often for the better.
2. Any major transformation or alteration.
3. Transformation brought about by the sea.

The Encinitas Library Gallery is hosting an exhibit of 25 original oil paintings by Micaiah. The artwork depicts the Southern California and Northern Baja coastline, as well as Catalina Island. There will be an opening reception held on Saturday, June 3rd from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. The public is invited to come enjoy this new collection of paintings with hors d’oeuvres, drinks and live music!

Everyone in attendance will be entered to WIN one of two original oil paintings that will be given away following the exhibition.

Micaiah has also created two new mural panels which will be installed in downtown Encinitas Historic Coast Hwy 101. These new oil paintings depict a native couple on the beach in Cardiff-by-the-Sea in two different epochs, pre-Columbian and modern. The images will replace existing panels originally installed in February 2015, entitled ‘Encinitas Harmony’, and are a part of an ongoing series of paintings that depict our local coastline and community as it evolves over time. The new mural will be installed shortly before the Artist Reception at the library, so be sure to swing by for a look!
