What is it about being in the sea that is so incredibly relaxing and liberating? Every other moment of our lives is spent grounded in some way, connected to the earth, but not when we are in the ocean. Once immersed in that salty realm we drift out away from civilization. The world becomes simple and all that remains are the swells of energy passing through the water, sunlight and wind. The energy of the ocean captures our souls and delights our senses. With a deep admiration for the ocean environment being one of Micaiah's main inspirations for his art, this show holds a special fondness.
The expanse of the ocean, maritime history, boats, beaches and bays are the focus of the Annual Maritime Exhibit hosted in Coos Bay, Oregon. This year, Micaiah had three paintings selected by the panel of judges for this museum show, which runs from July 9th, 2016 to September 24th, 2016.
